New Beginnings!
Rehearsals for the ONU Holiday Spectacular began last Tuesday – the day after set strike for Beauty and the Beast! I am so grateful to have been cast in this production as the Angel, a Toy Soldier, a Santa Baby, and a Female Singer/Dancer. It feels absolutely fantastic to be doing what I love again. I really missed singing, dancing, and acting while I was stage managing for Beauty and the Beast. I know I have had my classes during the day where I got to work on different dance and acting skills, but I really missed getting to perform in a production. Every day I feel so happy and lucky to be doing what I’m doing in this show.
Our first two days of rehearsal were focused on learned all of the music for the show. The third day of rehearsal, we worked on music for an hour, then transitioned into dance rehearsal for the rest of the night. For every rehearsal since then, we have been learning and cleaning dances. It is crazy to me that we have only been rehearsing for one week and we have already learned so much. Rehearsals are exhausting and long, but so worth it! I love getting to work with my friends again on something we all love to do.
I am very proud of myself for hopping right into the rehearsal process of another show after pouring my heart and soul into Beauty and the Beast. It has been a difficult transition and sometimes I feel like I am never going to catch up on the classwork I fell behind on at the end of Beauty and the Beast. However, the past two days have been beneficial to me and, I feel like I’m getting back on top of where I need to be.
I hope you all are as excited to see Holiday as I am to be in it! 🎭
I am so excited you get to perform again, even though you did such a wonderful job as our stage manager. Onstage is where you really shine, and I am so excited to get to see you sing as the angel. It’s already sounding beautiful!
