Time Management and Show Tickets!

The past two weeks have been crazy busy in Beauty and the Beast rehearsals here at ONU! Last week we blocked all of Act I and this week we have started on Act II. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please go to https://www.onu.edu/freed and take a look!

I have so many notes in so many different places – I definitely need to get everything organized this weekend before we start our week of show run-throughs. I am realizing that it is hard to maintain the lifestyle I typically follow when I am taking class, working at the costume shop for a few hours each week, and stage managing our fall show. I am usually very organized: I make my bed every morning, I wash dishes as soon as I finish using them, I put all of my papers in the correct folders/binders, and I always take notes in places that are labeled with what they include. Unfortunately, these past few weeks I have had to wake up in the mornings to get some last-minute homework done and I don’t always have time to make my bed. I hate leaving dishes in the sink, but I sometimes I don’t have the time to get them cleaned and put away before I leave for rehearsal. I will say, I am proud of the organization I have maintained with my paper copies and physical items – especially pertaining to rehearsal elements. It is true that my digital notes are a bit of a junk pile, but I am planning to fix that up this weekend! I think it is a good thing that I am able to recognize these things, because then I can put those thoughts out of my mind in the rehearsal room and focus on the tasks at hand and maintain a positive energy! And now I know what I can work on when I find the time. 🎭

  1. Hi Emily! I cannot wait to hear how the musical goes! I went to see Beauty and The Beast when I was in high school, it was a small performance put on by our schools theater department. It was definitely a super fun experience as Beauty and The Beast is one of my favorite Disney movies. Good luck to you and the rest of your peers, hope to hear more soon.

  2. Emily, you are doing so well as our stage manager and I know it’s because of how much work you do inside AND outside of rehearsals. Going into this with no experience, and doing as well as you are is so impressive and I hope you are proud of yourself. I know your peers are for sure, and were so thankful for you!
